A chess set made from Birch and Walnut.
During my exchange in Stockholm I learned to be more patient and precise by playing chess. It started out as a fun way to kill time while waiting for flights, or as a social game during a coffee. With a very good workshop available at Konstfack ( art academy ) I used my spare time to develop my skills in the woodworkshop. After all the social games of chess in many inventive ways I decided to reate my own chess set. Together with a spanish designer who also had his exchange at Konstfack we designed a modern chess set from Birch and walnut, A high end wood and a cheaper wood creating a good contrast between the playable teams while still being woods which are perfect to shape.
